A new business. With bonus material and bloopers and all. And you're right, I changed the title. Bit too presumptious. But if you want to find out more, got to learn Dutch first. Coz I tried in English, i really did, and it's just too much struggle. And hey i am lot smarter and wittier in my own language. So what i'll do; i'll just give it a go and juice it up with some Dutch whenever i am stuck. K?

Party time

Like I said, we had the childrens party first and then right after that the grown ups arrived.
Caroline was so excited that several times during her own party she just moped and sat on the couch coz things were not going as she planned.

Some highlights of the the afternoon:

1 girl sitting down at the table, seeing the crafts we were going to do and asking:
do we get a present when we leave or is this it?

caroline ordering the girls while eating cake:
raise your finger when you like my party!

1 girl being picked up by her father who said; hey, they have cats here.
Yes, that's why i wanted to go in the first place.

After about an hour Robbert came home with the boys (who were dearly missed by the girls i must add) and we started on the photo frames.
All in all it was a great party and caroline has been spoilt rotten.
Then dinner.
With 15 people around and the children getting so big they can no longer sit at the small table, we put a door over some things, wallpaper over it and voila, another table.

Today it is swimming, then Timo has another b-day party and then we bring the boys to my mother-in-law for a couple of days. It's vacation next week and they want to sleep over.
She returns them Tuesday and we usually need another 2 or 3 days to get them to listen again and in a normal bed/wake-up routine but by then, Caroline is at her place, so we'll probably be busy during the end of the week to get everyone down from the enormous sugar levels.

caroline turned 6

And this is what she is handing out to her class today. Tulips (Melissa and Caroline have been cutting and glue ing 35 of them) with marsmallows on them.

Ofcourse there were presents, we sang Lang zal ze leven and there were kisses.

Tomorrow it's the childrens party and later on the grown ups are coming over for dinner.
First things first.

Kermis

Whatever happened to the days you could spend 25 cts on a fair? Today we spend allmost 100 euro just to get some kids utterly sick.
It all started off gently.

But then they wanted to go in something called Break dance. I don't know why, but we let them.
It was horrid.
I could hardly watch it without throwing up and Caroline was turning white first and then green. She came out crying and then wanted to go into the bumping cars! (whatever do you call these in english?)
No way.
Robbert did though. and so did the boys.
Timo (green jacket) did 3 rounds looking like this:
then they all wanted to go into the trampoline thing. Caroline cheered up coz she was the only one who could do turns (back/forwards) and the guy from the equipment pulled her leg several times (literally yes) so she would swing higher.

then it was time for patat met mayo and the last attraction; Supermouse. Needless to say I didn't go in any, and i am not even ashamed to admit it.
Some things are not meant for me.
Such as a fair.
And Rubiks cube.

au pair meeting

This december Melissa is of course still here, with Jess.
But at the end of the month Chelsea is coming over.
And in the beginning Myf and Rachel (at least if she is overcoming her serious doubts) will be here too.
So, to all the others who have been around the last couple of years; why not celebrate X-mas in the Netherlands this year?

ps; Madame Butterfly was excellent.
But the theater was so warm, someone actually fainted during the first half of the play!
