A new business. With bonus material and bloopers and all. And you're right, I changed the title. Bit too presumptious. But if you want to find out more, got to learn Dutch first. Coz I tried in English, i really did, and it's just too much struggle. And hey i am lot smarter and wittier in my own language. So what i'll do; i'll just give it a go and juice it up with some Dutch whenever i am stuck. K?

Family drama's

These last few weeks there have been (at least) 3 family drama's in the Netherlands.
Family drama usually means there's a parent who commits suicide and takes his/her children with him/her.

Yesterday there was another one. A father shot his mother in law and jumped with his 2 sons (4 and 6 yr old) in front of the train.

I am shocked.
Appalled.
I,
I just do not get this.
And i wish i had not heard of it.
These things are too gruesome.

But i also understand that you have to be absolutely bottom-down desperate in order to even begin thinking of this.

I said to Robbert; whatever happens with us (the father was not allowed to see his children) please promise me, you will never get this desperate. There is Always a way out.
Probably a painful one. And definitely not an easy one. But this is beyond my imagination.

The mummyfication of Morten

I'd thought i'd update you faithful readers with some pictures on how my life has been these last couple of weeks.

This was this morning.

Easy like sunday morning

Not so easy anymore

Don't know what got into him, but Robbert gave Caroline a little suitcase full of girlies makeup things. 2 nailpolishes. 4 lipsticks. bunch of coloured cream stuff with a pencil.

She simply smeared everything on her face.

My nail. Her masterpiece.
I think the 2 bottles were emtpy after my 2 hands.

In the end, we discovered the couch was full with it too.
Robbert made her throw everything in the bin.
Which she did, with tears flowing down on her cheeks.
So, he took everything out of the bin again and said Never to do this again.

Now, who did buy her that present?

For something completely different

Not sure everyone wants to picture this, so don't say i didnot warn you.

You know what is even worse than going to the toilet while you can only use one leg to stand on and fill the 1 by 1 meter with clutches?

Having your period and going to the toilet in the above mentioned state.

Nag, nag nag

Just to give you an insight on a regular 'FREE' Wednesday.

Got up (i can walk now, bit unsteady, bit still a huge improvement) with an elastic thing around my lower leg and foot and one clutch.
Showered, dressed, showered T. who had had an accident last night.

Turn on washing machine.

Got down, breakfast for the lot.
Filled in the form for Morten to continue tennis lessons.
Cut out 2 passport pictures for him to take along.

Brought everyone to school.
Made arrangements for 2 brothers to come and play and eat here coming Friday.

Back home, dishwasher.

Out to get the kids socks, shirts and a new rugsack for Timo. Somehow i find myself bying several pairs of socks for each kid every 2 weeks.
Where do these go?

Back home everything on the table, out again to visit a building on the Heemraadssingel to see if this is going to be our future office space.

After about 50 minutes back home again, into the car and off to do groceries.
Arrived home with 7 (that is SEVEN) bags of groceries.

Tucked everything into the freezer, fridge wherever, off to fetch Timo and Caroline at school (12.45 by now)

On the way home buy bread at the bakery.

At home. Have lunch.

Thea comes over to discuss who of the 2 candidates for our sales position we are going to make an offer.

After about an hour, off to fetch Morten and Marijn at the tennis and bring Marijn home.

Drop the kids at home and fetching medicines from the pharmacie.

Hanging up laundry and sorting out dry stuff.

My mother on the phone; ordering her groceries online.
Made an appointment to go over to my granddad's house coming Sunday afternoon and take out some items (tv, mirror) and bring it to my aunts house.

And there you have me.
Almost 5 pm and it's time to put the kids into a bath, start making dinner and then collapse in bed watching telly.

Tomorrow and Friday were supposed to be free days.
I am treating Robbert to a lunch at restaurant Oud Sluis (too lazy to make a link) and booked a hotel for tomorrow evening.
However, tomorrow morning i am doing an intake with a candidate at a new client (yes we really need extra sales soon), the tyre of the van still needs to be replaced (see flat tyre story earlier, see ankle ligaments earlier), and I have to do my taxes.

And the weather stinks too.
