A new business. With bonus material and bloopers and all. And you're right, I changed the title. Bit too presumptious. But if you want to find out more, got to learn Dutch first. Coz I tried in English, i really did, and it's just too much struggle. And hey i am lot smarter and wittier in my own language. So what i'll do; i'll just give it a go and juice it up with some Dutch whenever i am stuck. K?

Busy bees

A couple of weeks ago our office manager/recruiter and Thea & i mutually agreed we would not prolongue her year contract.
But... 2 days ago we had a convention
And in a few weeks time we're moving office.

Yes. That sounds like all sorts of stuff that would be ideal for an office manager to take care of.

So, apart from the ordinary business, we are now looking for a new consultant, a new office manager and/or recruiter and have about a ton of not-worth-it-in-itself-but-nevertheless-very-time-consuming-things to take care of.

Anyone interested btw?
We're a small firm. Growing sensibly. Lots of laughter.

Anyway.
As it as i am waiting for Morten to finish his judo coz Robbert is at the ER again.
Yes.
Don't know what 's wrong but he had a little thing on his leg which developed into a ontsteking again. He was feeling crappy yesterday and is now waiting for his leg to be cut open again.
Weird isn't it.
In the hospital they said it was probably a serious vitamin lack, but come on. We eat quite healthily and besides, we all eat the same and so far * knock on wood* are doing fine.

BTW, besides judo, Morten is now into waterpolo.
Which is given on a Tuesday from 6-7.
Who ever thinks of these lessons has no life I guess.
Or at least, no other children who want to eat at that time.
This sporting business better pay of.

Hamsters and worms

One of the bigger supermarkt chains in the Netherlands is having a Hamster period .

For us Dutchies this makes perfect sense.
If you buy large quantities of an item (you hamster) you get a discount.

Jessica, on the other hand, thought that if you spend enough money at the Albert Heijn, they threw in a free hamster.

Might work though.

And worms.
Yes.
Morten had a birthday party about a week and a half ago and swam in some muddy pool.
A couple of days later he happily declared having seen worms in his poop, but as he had flushed already en didn't repeat his message, we sort of forgot.
Until this Friday.
Robbert checked and could do nothing but confirm.
YUUUUUUUKKKK

So, the whole happy family has taken a pill (worms are contagious, don't get me started because the thought of something alive (other than babies) coming out of me, gives me the creeps) and every time Morten has been to the WC he voluntarily declares how many he has seen now.
Dead or alive Robbert then asks.

And on this gross thought i leave you all.

I am so cultural

Melissa and I have been to a really nice theater play called That night follows day.
There were these 15 children on stage, facing us, and saying things about how we raised them, what we wanted them to believe in, how we treated them.
Like, you say No to us.
You tell us half truths and leave out places and names.
You tell us we should behave and be brave and have good manners.

It was a very cool play.

Further on, this whole weekend was devoted to the World Port Days. We've been touring with or without guides through Rotterdam, been in and on ships, steam trains and buses, seen dog shows, huge ferries, oil tankers and rescuing helicopters and ...
am glad it's over.
No really, it's lovely to do all this, but to wander around and sit on boats and stuff for 4 or 5 hours is enough. Next year though, i'll gladly be there again.

Denmark

It took me forever to load these, and i am pretty sure they speak for themselves.
In case of doubt, too bad. Think something up.
I'm going to bed.

It's about time

i updated this whole thing isn't it?

So.
Back from Denmark.
We ended our whole adventure in Legoland. Unfortunately Caroline was sick that day (diarea) and on the day we drove back.
Not handy when you are in a car for 9 hours.

Nuf said.

Yesterday the 3 of them went back to school.
Timo was quite disappointed all he had to do was draw. He is so ready to learn to read and write !
Morten got a scheduler from school and is all into that.
Caroline had a tough moment yesterday morning but she got her 'veterdiploma" (laces diploma when they can tie their own laces) AND *drum rolls* she told everyone she can bike without side wheels.

O and Melissa has been around already for more than a week. It's amazing what a chef that girl is. Apart from that i have the feeling she settled in real quickly, (also thanks to Rachel) and it's life as usual.

My sister is back from Rumania and settling in a bit more harder.
Both Marcel and Sam are in plaster (Marcel broke his arm and Sam got stuck with his foot between the bike wheel), the movers have been over and for the last week they're living out of a box and there's a lot of bureaucratic hassle moving back in again.

This weekend it's World Port Days and friday night Melissa and I are going out to see some theater play.
To be continued.
